1. Mater Dei 4-1 (75 points)
The Monarchs opened Trinity League play with a 25-10 win over Orange Lutheran. Freshman running back Asir Nembhard scored his first varsity touchdown. Senior receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt had four receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. The Monarchs play Santa Margarita on Friday at Santa Ana Stadium.

2. Mission Viejo 6-1 (72)
Senior quarterback Luke Fahey completed 23 of 25 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns as the Diablos rolled to a 56-7 win over Long Beach Poly. It is the third time this season Mission Viejo has scored more than 50 points. Jack Junker had six catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Diablos’ next game is Oct. 17 at home against San Clemente in an Alpha League opener.

3. Santa Margarita 4-2 (69)
Logan Hirou’s 12 tackles. including six solo tackles, led an outstanding defensive effort by the Eagles in a 17-7 win over Servite in a Trinity League opener for both teams. Sophomore running back Jaion Smith rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. Santa Margarita plays Mater Dei this week at Santa Ana Stadium.

4. Orange Lutheran 3-3 (66)
The Lancers trailed by only a touchdown going into the fourth quarter before losing to top-ranked Mater Dei 25-10. Orange Lutheran’s offense moved the ball well at times, collecting 23 first downs, but found the end zone only one time. Orange Lutheran has a home game Friday night against St. John Bosco at Orange Coast College.

5. Servite 4-2 (63)
The Friars’ offense sputtered, especially in the second half when they were shut out, in a 17-7 loss Santa Margarita in a Trinity League opener. The defense was good, led by Saxon Churchwell’s nine solo tackles. Servite has a home game Friday against JSerra at Cerritos College.

6. Los Alamitos 7-0 (60)
The Griffins did not play last week and do not play this week, too. The team is averaging 41 points a game. Los Alamitos plays its Alpha League opener against Edison on Oct. 17 at its on-campus field.

7. JSerra 3-3 (63)
The Lions were overwhelmed by St. John Bosco, 70-21, in their Trinity League opener. JSerra’s Clark Cokley had three receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown, and Rocco Tompkins was in on 10 tackles. The Lions play Servite on Friday at Cerritos College.

8. Crean Lutheran 6-0 (54)
Caden Jones passed for 370 yards and four touchdowns as the Saints defeated Foothill 40-14 in their Epsilon League opener. Dillon Booth and Bryce Coleman had five receptions each for Crean Lutheran, and Ty Johnson, who became eligible last week, had two touchdown catches. The Saints play El Dorado on Friday at Valencia High.

9. Tustin 4-2 (51)
The Tillers opened Delta League play with a 39-0 win over Cypress. Elijah Robinson rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries and Hayden Koo had five receptions for 165 yards and a touchdown. Tustin is home Friday against Trabuco Hills.

Senior quarterback Brady Annett threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-10 win over San Juan Hills in a Bravo League opener. Dorsett Stecker had eight receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown and Cash Pearsall had eight total tackles and an interception as the Sea Kings remained undefeated. Corona del Mar plays its annual Battle of the Bay game against Newport Harbor on Saturday at Orange Coast College.
